The purpose of this study was to investigate four psychological items such as competitive orientation, competitive anxiety, attentional focus, concentration and mental toughness related to performance levels (chief and substitute players` groups) of high school golf players in order to find out psychological factors influencing on the golf same and use these results for drafting up-and-coming golf players having good psychological potential and help to make the prescription program for mental training of existing players. Among the total 113 subjects for this study, 55 came from chief golfer and 58 from substitute high school golf. The t-test were conducted using SPSS program to know about whether statistical differences on each psychological item exist between performance levels of the players. The followings are the results of this study. 1. The competitive orientation were significantly different between chief players and substitute players. 2. The level of cognitive state anxiety of substitute players was significantly higher than that of chief players. but state-confidence of chief players was significantly higher than that of substitute players. 3. The mental toughness between performance levels was also significantly different. The mental toughness of chief players was higher than of substitute players. 4. The concentration and the attentional focus(BET, NAR, RED) were significantly different between chief players and substitute players.
