A System for the Diagnostic Use of Tissue Characterizing Parameters in N M R — Tomography

In the last years Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) tomography of hydrogen nuclei has become a well-established technique of non-invasive diagnostics. Both the kind of tissue specific information being distributed to several series of images and the importance of the physician as a user with final competence and responsibility make the task of tissue characterization and differentiation special in applied classification methodology. The following chapters will outline progress and results of developmental work of several components of an image analysis and classification system, which is superimposed by a system of control and information management. Additionally the design of tools to include the user in the decision process will be discussed.
