PAPR Reduction Method Using Clipping and Peak-Windowing in CI/OFDM System

OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is one of the most promising technologies for next-generation high-speed mobile communications. However, it has a high PAPR (Peak-to Average Power Ratio) and requires wide dynamic range of transmission linearity. We propose a new simple system to dramatically reduce PAPR with a combination of CI (Carrier Interferometry) spreading code and peak-windowing employing a Clipping/Filtering signal. The results of computer simulation using our proposal show about 7dB PAPR reduction at 10"3 within ldB increase of Eb/No at 10"4 BER, and furthermore there is almost no increasing in the out-of-band radiation.
