The dielectric constant of liquid nitrogen over the frequency range 0.5 to 10.4 GHz

From measurements of the harmonic frequencies of a microstrip ring-resonator circuit over the microwave frequency range 0.5 to 10.4 GHz, the dielectric constant of liquid nitrogen has been determined to have an average value of 1.538+or-0.025. In addition, the dielectric constant of 3 mol.% yttria-stabilized zirconia at a frequency of 1 GHz has been determined as 32.99 at room temperature and as 31.73 at 77 K, with an estimated measurement accuracy of <2%.
