Impact of Advent of Electronic Information Resources on Research

Thestudyhasbeenconductedwithanobjectivetoassesstheimpactofe-resourceson sevenaspectsofresearch.SevenagriculturaluniversitiesofNorthIndiaweresurveyed whileusingquestionnaireasadatacollectiontool.Themajorityofrespondentsareof theopinionthatduetoadventofe-resourcesandinviewoftheICTdevelopments,they ‘feelmuchcomfortableandcompetenttosearchinformation’andthechangedscenario hasenabledthemto‘generatenewresearchideas’.Thequantityaswellasqualityof researchhasimproved.Amajorityoftherespondentsarealsooftheopinionthattheir ‘researchoutputfindsmorecitations’.Amajorityofusersareoftheopinionthatthe problemof‘duplicationofresearch’hasdiminishedwhileincontrastthemenaceof ‘plagiarismhasincreased’.Amajorityoftheusersagreethatadventofe-resources haslaidapositiveimpactexceptforthefactthat‘plagiarism’hasenhanced.
