The two-phase binary equilibrium system in which the concentration of one component in the condensed phase is negligibly small is of particular interest because such a system affords a comparatively easy means for analytically predicting composition in the second phase. The various methods used for the analytical calculations and the assumptions made therein can then be evaluated by direct comparison with experimental data on the system.
