Temporal-based acoustic-phonetic patterns in read speech: some evidence for speaker sex differences

L'A. se penche sur les conventions linguistiques et stylistiques qui semblent affecter les caracteristiques vocales des femmes et des hommes. Il tente notamment de determiner si ces conventions ont un effet sur les aspects temporels de la lecture orale. Dans cette optique, il mesure la duree de la lecture de phrases et examine certains phenomenes acoustiques, tels que la reduction phonetique, le devoisement, le temps d'attaque de la voix, la reduction d'amplitude et la glottalisation. Les resultats de ces analyses indiquent que, meme dans une situation controlee en laboratoire, les hommes et les femmes adoptent differents styles de parole et realisent des sons differents lorsqu'ils lisent des phrases
