Stability Conditions for Néel Walls and Cross‐Tie Walls in Thin Magnetic Films

The stability of Neel walls and cross‐tie walls has been studied in 80‐20 Ni‐Fe thin films between 200A and 640A. It was found that well defined, overlapping ranges of stability exist for Neel and cross‐tie walls and that walls can be transformed from one type to another by the application of a magnetic field along the hard direction.
