Differential optical polarization imaging in turbid media with different embedded objects

A Monte Carlo modeling technique was developed to study subsurface polarization imaging of scattering media. Images of embedded absorption, scattering, and reflective objects were simulated with both linearly and circularly polarized incident light. Results indicated that different objects appeared differently in polarization-sensitive images. The effects of object depths on image contrast were also examined.
