The multi-agent approach has been recommended as a probable solution to most real-world problems, including problems related to organizational models. In one organizational issue, the complexity of organizing books and other learning resources in the library is very high given the limited number of staff against the increasing number of books and students. Book lending and borrowing activities need to be efficient in ensuring an organized system for the processes. This paper proposes a Smart Library Management System (SLMS) based on a multi-agent approach for organizing and managing books and other learning resources in university libraries. Based on the preliminary findings, a proposal for more studies is also made at the end of this study. It is believed that such proposals will guide future studies towards contributing significantly to the field.
