Resolution reduction by growth of zones for visual prosthesis

We introduce an algorithm for visual prosthesis devices, where the data bandwidth must be dramatically reduced in order to correspond to the biotechnological constraints. The resolution reduction is based on an image segmentation by growth of zones which gives good results and allows an implementation in a low-power VLSI device.
