Eye detection by using fuzzy template matching and feature-parameter-based judgement

Abstract We present a new method for eye detection in which a fuzzy template is constructed based on the piecewise boundary. A judgement of eye or non-eye is made according to the similarity between the input image and eye template. Five feature parameters are defined as a measure of such similarity and calculated based on the template. The experimental results showed that the method works well.
