I-Dpas based Control Algorithm for an Islanded Microgrid with Dynamic and EV Loads

This paper focuses on the voltage and frequency regulation of islanded microgrid under the sudden start of an IM (Induction Motor)load, EV (Electric Vehicle)charging, and unbalanced nonlinear load. An I-DPAPS (Improved-Diffusion Proportionate Affine Projection Sign)based control algorithm is proposed for VSC (Voltage Source Converter), to regulate the voltage and frequency of the islanded microgrid and also improved power quality. The performance of the islanded microgrid is demonstrated through simulated results obtained in the MATLAB/Simulink and test results taken from the experimental prototype realised in the laboratory.
