Performance Evaluation ofOFCDM andMC-DS-CDMAfortheForward LinkinNext Generation Mobile Communication Systems

Inthis contribution westudy andcompare theperformance oforthogonal frequency codedivision multiplexing (OFCDM)andmulti-carrier direct- sequence codedivision multiple access(MC-DS- CDMA)based onMMSE multi-user detection (MUD) insingle-cell andmulti-cell environments forthe forward link ofacellular mobile system. TheBERand PERresults forbothsystems showthattheeffect of userloading andmodulation schemeoneachsystem varies theperformance significantly while changing the spreading factor hasnonoticeable impact onboth system performances.
