Implementation of an induction servo controller using a 32-bit microprocessor

The authors consider the design and implementation of an induction servo drive which is used in machine tools and robots. The problem of designing the drive is formulated by treating the system as a nonlinear control problem. An indirect field-oriented control for the motion of the servo drive is illustrated. Then a 32-bit microprocessor-based controller is implemented for realizing the servo control algorithm. The implemented system provides a software approach for experimentally verifying advanced control concepts for induction servo drives.<<ETX>>
