Abstract This paper presents the design and flight experiences of the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem for the Japanese Earth Resources Satellites-1 (JERS-1) which was launched on February 11 1992. As lhe regulator design, wheel regulator and magnetic unloading regulator for Normal Mode are discussed. Major topics about the flight data analysis are attitude rate increase related to the solar paddle drive, Earth sensor bias error estimation, disturbance torque estimationtand solar paddle damping coefficient.
