Thermal Analysis of Stratopheric Airship in Working Process

An effecti ve and economical approach used to anal yze thermal state of stratos pheric airship was discussed in this study. This new approach was vali dated by the results/data of available literatures. Environmental thermal sources were consi dered in this model, including the periodic sources, such as radi ation of the sun and the earth, and the constant ones such as the cool s pace. A steady simulati on for a 35m long airshi p on ground condi tion and another airship in stratos phere at night was carried out for verifying Sol ar Load model and earth infrared radiation UDF. Then, an unsteady simulati on for the photovol taic arrays equi ppe d wi th 35m long airshi p was also carried out for evaluating “superheat” and “supercool”. Simulation results were in g ood agreement wi th the experi mental data. This method, which is more economy in both ti me and cost, is expected to substitute the tests in some cases.
