Educational Technology: Cream or Salt in the Classroom?.

A lot of time and effort is being spent on developing increasingly sophisticated gadgetry for use in the classroom. To many people these devices and the concept of educational technology have become synonymous. But for the technology to fulfil its promise, educators are going to need to spend much more time looking beyond the hardware to the individuals for whom the technology has been designed. The needs and perceptions of both teacher and learner place significant constraints upon the ultimate effectiveness of any intervention of this nature in the classroom.
