Stabile und metastabile Phasengleichgewichte in den Teilsystemen MgZn2-Zn und Me2Sn-MgZn2—-Sn-Zn

The stable and metastable binary MgZn 2 -Zn and ternary Mg 2 Sn-MgZn 2 -Sn-Zn alloys are reexamined using thermal and microstructure analysis. Very thin-walled silica ampoules are positioned directly on top of the thermocouple to perform the differential thermoanalysis (DTA). The ampoules can be removed and quenched in water from any temperature. Microstructural changes can be therefore compared directly with the corresponding DTA effect. Metastable states in MgZn 2 -Zn and Mg 2 Sn- MgZn 2 -Sn-Zn alloys and their transitions into the stable equilibria are demonstrated
