Pressure casting control for thin-walled parts based on dynamic matrix control

Aims at the control of the complex MIMO pure delay coupled pressure casting system, a TY-3 type computer control system was made by tracking the ideal dynamic pressure curve by computer during the whole process of casting parts. Firstly, the model of the 2 inputs and 2 outputs casting system was built using least square identification combined theoretical analysis. Secondly, three algorithms including self-tuning PID, dynamic matrix control (DMC), PID plus DMC (PID+DMC) were exerted to the control of upper container pressure and lower container pressure in casting system in different situation. And their robustness was also analyzed. Via comparison and analysis, the results show that the PID plus DMC method has most desirable dynamic performance in overshoot, settling time and has the strongest robustness when model mismatch occurred.
