Research of adaptive spatio-temporal DFE with embedded DPLL in high-speed underwater digital communication

In order to decrease the major influences of time-varying multipath and fading in underwater channels and increase the transmit distance and reliability of an underwater communications system,research and analysis were done on an adaptive spatio-temporal decision feedback equalizer(DFE) with an embedded digital-phase-locked-loop(DPLL) in a high-speed underwater digital communications system.Proposed emulation results are provided for different algorithms and parameters of this adaptive spatio-temporal DFE.Results from experiments in a lake prove that the equalizer algorithm is workable and effective in a high-rate underwater wireless communications system.
