Several vector control systems of induction motors without speed sensors have been proposed. These methods have a disadvantage that the rotor resistance variation causes the estimation error of the motor speed. This paper proposes a new rotor speed estimation algorithm for speed sensorless systems. This is a very simple method by which the exact speed can be computed directly. Furthermore the method dosen't require the information of the rotor resistance which makes if free from the variation of the rotor resistance. The estimated speed is used as a feedback in an indirect vector control system. The effectiveness of the proposed method were verified by digital simulation.
