GESTÃO DA INFORMAÇÃO DE PRODUTOS: BASE PARA OS RELACIONAMENTOS NA CADEIA DE SUPRIMENTOS PRODUCT INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: BASIS FO R RELATIONSHIPS IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN

This article approaches product information management as one of the critical elements for the development of relationships in the supply chain, especially those connected with e-business, collaborative processes and supply chain monitoring. Product information management is a very recent theme and only a few companies currently have systems of this nature. Corporate focus on the return on investment in information technology and the development of integrated support resources among suppliers of corporate solutions are increasingly drawing attention to the theme. Given this context, this article adopts a conceptual approach methodology based on a revision of the literature and authors' proposals. The article discusses how companies can effectively develop their product information management competencies and suggests models pertinent to ebusiness, collaborative processes and supply chain monitoring.
