Compositionally Tuned Solid State Lasers

A method of implementing high gain solid state lasers tuned to a particular wavelength is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In particular, Nd:YGAG has been demonstrated to be capable of being tuned to high loss water absorption lines around 0.94 µm.
