Reliability Calculation of Flood Design Discharge for Spillway

The discharge capacity of spillway is a random variable due to the inconstaness of the hydraulic factors. It is a random event that whether the spillway could handle design discharge in the case of design flood stage. This paper preliminaril restudies reliability of flood design discharge for spillway. The calculaton and analysis show that the reliability of the current useed calculation is not high.This paper studies design method of spillway on the basis of reliability.
