A 54-year-old woman presented with a right breast lump of 1 month duration. There was no pain or discharge. She had had a breast abscess drained some years ago. The clinical diagnosis was that of a benign lump and a lumpectomy was performed. Histology showed several foreign body giant cell granulomas in the breast tissue. These 2 blood vessels with the strategically situated erythrocytes and a lymphocyte show a striking resemblance to Steven Spielberg’s creation, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (see Figure 1). The suture material seen in the giant cell above this “E.T.” acts as a foreign body in the breast—and is thus also an extraterrestrial! 534467 IJSXXX10.1177/1066896914534467International Journal of Surgical Pathology XX(X)Pai research-article2014
