Using Easy Java Simulations to create scientific simulations in Java

Easy Java Simulations, Ejs, is a software authoring tool that helps create scientific simulations in Java. We show in this paper a sequence of sample simulations that endorse the claim that is the starting point of Ejs: creating simulations of scientific phenomena that can be a challenging yet attainable task, suitable for science and engineering students. We'll also try to show the pedagogical attractive that creating simulations can have, as long as we let the students engage in model description and not get distracted by computer specific issues, which are of course needed in order to create a modern simulation, but that Ejs automatically takes care of.
