Thermodynamics of solutions of ideal multi-component micelles. Part 2

By methods similar to those of fluctuation theory a limiting law similar to Henry's law is derived for multicomponent micelles. Relationships between the total concentrations and monomer concentrations of the components are derived. An expression for the solution turbidity is given, and its use in determining micellar size, concentration, composition and other related quantities is described. The application of the theory to binding on macromolecules, to systems containing electrolytes and to hydrotropic phenomena, is outlined and a discussion given on the determination of micellar weight from solubilization of a water insoluble dye.
