Development of Operation Assist System for Remote Control of A Mobile Robot

Remote control through displays is a hard task for a human and operators have to train for a long time to master proficient skills. Assist systems of the operator are proposed in this paper in order to improve the operations. We consider that one of the difficulties of remote operation is the delay of operational signals, and the operators predict the moving of remote equipment and operate the system. So that the Assist systems show the predictive information of movement on displays. To investigate the effectiveness and improvement points, an experiment, in which an operator inspects breaking of pipes, is done to 5 subjects and these data are analyzed.
