Thermal modification of high moisture round logs in the environment of saturated water vapor with simultaneous predrying

The review of researches in the field of heat treatment of wood in Russia and abroad is carried out. The energy saving technology of thermal modification of high moisture round logs in the environment of saturated water vapor with simultaneous predrying is developed. The description of design of installation for realization of the offered technology is presented. The tests for determination of physical and chemical changes in wood during thermal modification were run. The results of tests and the regime parameters of conducting the process of thermal modification in the environment of water vapor for the purpose of receiving wood with the improved final characteristics are presented.
