Small signal and large signal charge control models for a phase-shifted PWM converter

Average switch models for both small signal and large signal performance of a phase-shifted full-bridge PWM (PS-FB-PWM) converter under charge control called charge-controlled ZVS-PWM switch (QC-ZVS-PWM) are developed in this paper. By substituting these models into cycle-by-cycle model of PS-FB-PWM converter the small signal and large signal behavior of the converter can be easily predicted. Implementation of these models in analysis programs such as PSPICE is very simple and their simulations take much less execution time. These models show their high ability in simplifying analysis of large multi-module converters when the implementation of cycle-by-cycle models involves convergence problems in PSPICE or in other analysis programs. The derived models will be compared with other models in literature.
