Closing the Gap and Accelerating Learning in the Middle Years of Schooling

Learning to Read: Reading to Learn is an innovative program that is achieving success in closing the gap between successful and at risk students in the middle years of schooling. Results include average literacy gains at twice the expected rates of development, and as high as four times expected rates, when implemented during a few lessons per week with whole classes and it integrates teaching of high level skills in reading and writing with normal classroom programs across the curriculum.
