The effect of carried loads on the ground reaction forces in walking

In this work, the influence of carried loads (5, 10 and 15% of body mass) on ground reaction force has been investigated. Measurements have been applied to 52 subjects using Kistler force platform. In order to be able to compare the characteristics of walking, the determined parameters have been normalised. Dependencies of the vertical force on the gait speed and symmetrically distributed loading in both hands have been determined. It was observed that change in vertical force is not proportional to the carried load.
