The General Theory of Relativity

P A M Dirac Chichester: J Wiley 1975 pp viii + 69 price £5.80 The past ten years have seen a considerable expansion of interest in general relativity, due, in large measure, to an astonishing variety of recent astronomical observations, apparently indicating gravitational fields too strong (e.g. in neutron stars, black holes and the big bang) for Newtonian physics to be adequate. Furthermore, new direct observational tests of general relativity have come forth to lend striking support to Einstein's original 1916 theory.
