Generating motion fields of complex scenes

In the past, evaluation of the effectiveness of optical flow algorithms on real scenes has been difficult due to a lack of complex test data for which the correct flow is known. We give a detailed description of how a simple ray tracing technique can be used to generate ground truth motion fields for the evaluation of optical flow algorithms on scenes of arbitrary complexity.
