Hole Mobility in Organic Molecular Crystals

Adoption of a simple crystal counter technique has made possible a study of carrier mobilities in organic molecular crystals. The results give a mean value of 0.48 cm2/V·sec for the mobility of holes in anthracene in the low‐field region. The data indicate that study of pulse rise times at high electric field strengths will provide information on charge‐carrier scattering mechanisms in these materials.
