Similarity Metrics for Closed-Loop Dynamic Systems

In this paper, similarity between two dynamical systems is examined. The paper addresses the question of how two closed-loop dynamic systems are said to be “similar” such that flight test data from one is relevant for assessing stability and performance of the other. To address these questions, this study focuses on developing and evaluating similarity metrics for closed-loop model validation, seeking to determine appropriate candidate similarity metrics which can be used to quantitatively assess the degree to which and ways in which two closed-loop dynamic systems can be said to be similar.
