Application of Otsu' method in multi-threshold image segmentation

Image segmentation is a crucial but difficult problem in digital image processing. This paper makes an attempt to apply the Otsu method to multi-thresholds segmentation. An Otsu's multi-threshold algorithm guided by bi-peak method is suggested to improve the speed and stability of the algorithm. Segmentation tests on a sample image shows that the algorithm achieves good performance in both efficiency and quality.
