Offshore grids in Europe: The strategy of Ireland for 2020 and beyond

The present paper focuses on the particular case of Ireland, where the development of offshore grids is more and more investigated. This could be an optimal approach not only to address the foreseen massive wind integration issue, but also to reinforce the onshore grid and use the potential to export energy abroad. This paper presents some results related to the ongoing studies on the subject. (7 pages)
