Well completions and workovers. Part 11. Well inflow system: applications

When a well is not making the production it should (whether in MCFD or BPD), a quick systems appraisal - recent well test (feedback) and compared with what the well should make (its objective) - may be implemented. The failure of a well to meet its objective is a symptom of a problem. It could be a mechanical problem, such as a worn pump, a leaking gas-lift mandrel, or a leaking tubing string. It could be a problem with the inflow system of the well itself. Something outside the well bore, in the drainage volume may have caused the inflow of the well to diminish. Proper application of the systems approach which is described can determine the real cause of the problem.
