Present and future pretreatment concepts : Strategies for reliable and low-maintenance reverse osmosis seawater desalination

This paper concentrates on seawater desalination and related problems. In the discussion of design concepts for future plants, the experience gained in other, very severe applications of reverse osmosis/nanofiltration and ultrafiltration will also be discussed.
