A time-shared digital computer system for on-line analysis of cardiac catheterization data

Abstract The use of a digital computer to calculate cardiac catheterization data has been studied. The equipment and programming logic used by our laboratory are described. Specific features of on-line data transmission, cardiologist-computer interaction utilizing a series of on-off signals to prompt the computer and the ease with which this system can be utilized by regular laboratory personnel without special training are stressed.
