Hardware-in-the-loop test bench for vehicle ACC system

In this paper, a vehicle adaptive cruise control (ACC) hardware in-the-loop (HIL) platform is established to test different control strategies. This platform consists of the longitudinal vehicle dynamic model established in LabVIEW and the controller designed by the field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Due to the complex control algorithm of ACC system, FPGA with the ability of high-speed calculation is chosen as the controller to ensure the high-speed operation of the control algorithm. Experiments show that this HIL test bench provides a convenient real-time tool to test different control strategies.
