A novel flux-weakening control method based on single current regulator for permanent magnet synchronous motor

Traditional flux-weakening control algorithms for PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor) apply two independent current regulators. The two current regulators conflict with each other in high speed operation region, leading to worse system performance. Based on the d-q current cross-coupling effect, deep flux-weakening control of PMSM can be achieved by using single current regulator. Q-axis voltage given scheme is a key issue of this method, which influences PMSM's voltage utilization ratio, efficiency and load capability. This paper presents a new qaxis voltage given method. It can adjust q-axis voltage to motor operating condition. This method does not depend on motor parameters or look-up table, is easy to achieve. This method is verified by the results of simulation and experiment.
