Utilization of Postnatal Care Services in Rural Area of Western Rajasthan, India -

Maternal and child health care is one of the eight basic components of primary health care in declaration of Alma Ata.1 Promoting women’s health improves not only individual health but also the health of the family, community and the nation.2 Most of the maternal deaths can be prevented if women had visited maternal health services during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.3,4, The Millennium Development Goal-5 (MDG5, WHO), focuses to improve maternal health, with targets to reduce maternal mortality by three quarters between 1990 and 2015, and to achieve universal access to reproductive health by 2015.5 Since MDGs were not achieved in 2015, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) came into action particularly SDG-3 to improve the condition of health including maternal health.6
