Research in Disease-Gene Network Based on Bipartite Network Projection

A network of disorders and disease genes linked by disorder-gene associations offers a platform to explore all known phenotype and disease gene associations using graph theory.In this paper,we analyze the diseasome graph using a method called bipartite network projection which can explore the connection of nodes in the same group.The results show that genes associated with similar disorders show both higher likelihood of physical interactions between their products and higher expression profiling similarity for their transcripts.And this also indicates more clearly the common genetic origin of many diseases,which makes sense in disease prevention and medical diagnose.
