Advanced Exploration Crew Mobility Systems Program

The newly formed Crew Mobility Systems (CMS) Program of the Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) Division within the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate (HEOMD) will be described. The program consists of three projects: 1. Multi-Mission Space Exploration Vehicle (MMSEV); 2. The advanced spacesuit with Portable Life Support System (PLSS) for Extravehicular Activities (EVA) Systems Development; and 3. The suitport interface mechanism between MMSEV and EVA suit and PLSS. These advanced hardware projects are currently under development at NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) and other centers.
