Effects of promalin, SADH and chlormequat on tree growth, flowering, fruit-set, yield and fruit quality of ‘Gola’ pear

SummaryPost-bloom sequential foliar sprays of two levels each of promalin, SADH or chlormequat were applied to four year old pear (Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm) Nakai) cv Gola trees. Spray of 250 mg I-1 a.i. promalin, 1000 mg I-1 SADH or chlormequat controlled excessive upright growth and enhanced productivity of the trees. However, due to favourable effects on tree shaping, side shoot (lateral) growth and fruit quality, promalin is more advantageous than SADH or chlormequat.
