High efficiency achievement by dielectric material loading for a piled type small meander line antenna

For UHF RFID systems, small meander line antennas are proposed. In this paper, achievements of high efficiency by dielectric material loading are shown. Because a meander line structure becomes sparse by loading higher materials, conducting metal width can be spread. Accordingly, ohmic resistance can be decreased and the antenna efficiency can be improved. The dielectric loaded piled meander line antenna can be realized the efficiency of -1.1 dB at antenna length of 0.05 wavelength
