Simultaneous Calculation of Bulk and Surface Transient Waves Radiated by Water‐Coupled Ultrasonic Transducers

This study aims at extending the capabilities of UT simulation tools of CIVA software platform to deal with surface acoustic waves. From asymptotics derived in a canonical configuration, a geometrical interpretation is proposed allowing to develop a model based on the pencil method able to deal with more general configurations. Comparisons with exact results validate the approach. Results of wavefields made of both bulk and surface wave contributions computed in CIVA illustrate the new capabilities.
